From May 10 to 15, Estepona celebrates one of the most important festivals of the year: the Fair of San Isidro Labrador, patron saint of the city. During these days, there are all kinds of participatory activities in which the people of Estepona show their joy to the world. To make sure you don’t miss a single one, we present this year’s official calendar of activities. Viva San Isidro!

Children’s Day: May 10

What you should know:

On Wednesday, May 10, Children’s Day will be celebrated at the local San Isidro Fair, with the following program:

19:00: Great Cavalcade of Joy with Giants and Big-heads. The parade will leave from the school Víctor de la Serna and will go along Avenida San Lorenzo, Calle Real, Terraza, Granada, San Juan and return to the school. The Agrupación Musical ‘Marbella’ will liven up the event.

22:00: Inauguration of the amusement park at the fairgrounds. There will be a ribbon cutting, parade of authorities, Queens and Maids of Honor, accompanied by the Municipal Band of Estepona.

22:01: Beginning of the attractions at 50% discount, especially for children.

23:30: Music at the official booth of San Isidro Labrador.

May 11

What you should know:

For Thursday we have the following activities:

10:30: Olive workshop at the official stand. The preparation of seasoned olives will be in charge of Pilar Laura Martínez de la Puerta.

11:30: Activity “Isidro, El Arriero y su Burrita Molinera”. Isidro García, master wanderer, will tell incredible stories to the children.

From 13:00: Exhibition of Canaries in the official stand. The Pajarería Quirós in Estepona will exhibit the best canaries, with the Spanish-bred group being the world champion in 2021.

17:30: Children’s party.

22:30: Musical entertainment with DJ.

May 12

What you should know:

The San Isidro Fair continues on Friday with another bunch of activities:

14:00: Soup at the official stand for one euro for the benefit of the Brotherhood.

17:00: Pleitas workshop. If you have never seen esparto grass weaving, you can’t miss it.

19:30: Solidarity wagon. The collection of non-perishable food for the offering of the Patron will be carried out. The route is as follows: Departure from the Casa de la Hermandad, Monterroso, Juan Carlos I, National Police, Civil Guard, Pilar de Farinós, Casares, María Espinosa, Blas Ortega, Jesús y María, Calvario, Granada, El Cid, Valencia and Parroquia de San José.

21:30: Dance performance at the official stand by La Milana.

22:45: Dance with the musical group Latidos.

May 13

What you should know:

We arrived at Saturday with many more options for a good time.

10:30: Competition of wines from Estepona and its region in the official stand. Prizes for the three categories: Dry, Semi-Dry and Sweet of 150 €, 120 € and 90 € to the first three classified in each one.

13:30: Axe dexterity contest. Prizes of €150, €120, €90 for the first three winners and runner-up prizes of €35.

15:00: Awards ceremony.

16:30:Performance of the music group Los Jubis in the official stand.

22:30: Dancing with orchestra, again with the musical group Latidos.

May 14

What you should know:

Sunday is one of the busiest days in the program of activities. This is what awaits you:

10:00: Floral offering to the Patron Saint of Estepona in the Parish Hall of San José.

12:00: Horse Gymkhana Competition.

13:00: Horseback Racetrack Competition.

14:00: Horseback Pole Vaulting Competition. Prizes of 150€ + trophy, 120€ + trophy and 90€ + trophy to the first three classified.

15:00: Awards ceremony at the Official Booth.

18:00: Snack for the elderly offered by the Brotherhood to the farmers. It will be enlivened with the performance of the musical group Amores del Sur from Estepona and the dance of the Day Center for Active Participation, directed by Monica Peña.

21:00: Performances by the students of Lourdes Bazán and Lourdes Barrientos in the Official Stand.

22:30: Dance with orchestra “Latidos”.

May 15

What you should know:

The last opportunity to celebrate the San Isidro Fair in 2023. For the closing, here is the plan for Monday:

00.00: Announcement of the Big Day in Estepona and closing of the Jubilee Holy Year of San Isidro Labrador. Up to 12 rockets will announce the feast day of the Patron Saint of Estepona.

08.00: Institutional and popular offering to the Patron Saint of Estepona, in the esplanade of the parish of San José.

11.00: Concelebrated Eucharist at the canonical seat of the Brotherhood, Parish of San José.

12.00: Throughout the day you can visit the altar in the square of Casares in honor of San Isidro Labrador. In addition, a collection of bells and cowbells of D. Miguel López will be exhibited, provided by his widow, Dña. Dorinda Fernández.

12.30:Official presentation of the Institutional Offering, in the esplanade of the San José parish. Afterwards, the Dance Academy of the Peña Flamenca de Estepona directed by Antonio Trujillo will perform.

13.00: Visit of Altars installed in the processional itinerary.

18.00: Jubilant departure of San Isidro Labrador (Perpetual Patron and Mayor of Estepona). Horseback riders, malagueñas, peasant images, floats… to finish with the Jubilant Procession-Romería of San Isidro Labrador with the following itinerary: Valencia, Zaragoza, Terraza, Papuecos, Montecillo, Casares, Pinar de Farinós, Prolongación de Avenida de San Lorenzo, new Town Hall of Estepona, Avenida San Lorenzo, Real, Terraza, El Cid, Goya and return to its temple.

22.00: DJ entertainment at the official booth of San Isidro Labrador.
