The Estepona Town Hall, in collaboration with AEDAS Homes, announces a new edition of its prestigious urban art contest, consolidating the city as a cultural reference on the Costa del Sol.
A Boost to Urban Art and Cultural Tourism
The III International Mural Contest of Estepona not only seeks to beautify the city, but also to attract artistic talent from all over the world. With a total of 27,000 euros in prizes, the contest is shaping up to be one of the most attractive in its category.
Awards and Participation
- First prize: 10,000 euros
- Second prize: 5.000 euros
- Eight runners-up: 1,500 euros each
The contest is open to artists over 18 years of age of any nationality. The proposals must be original and unpublished, allowing total creative freedom in terms of theme and style.
Estepona: An Open Air Museum
The city already has 64 artistic murals decorating facades in various neighborhoods, including “Fishing Day”, one of the tallest vertical murals in Spain, at almost 1,000 square meters.
Tourism and Cultural Impact
Mayor José María García Urbano stresses that this initiative “has become an important tourist attraction and one of the hallmarks of the municipality”.
Collaboration with the Private Sector
AEDAS Homes, a leading developer in Spain with more than 300 projects and 18,000 homes, joins the City Council in this edition, reinforcing the private sector’s commitment to cultural development.
